inattention vs neglect

what is difference between inattention vs neglect and what are some tests i can do to differentiate them

Re: inattention vs neglect

not too sure about lack of attention, but neuro related pathology leading to neglect can be tested by ....
- draw a simple symmetrical image such a clock or a house and ask the patient to draw it. A neglect patient will only draw half of it
- You can ask them to identify what they see infront of them, and they will ignore one side
- give them a sheet of paper and ask them to cross out the stars, again a neglect patient will only cross out starts on one side of the page
