BPPV - ANT Canal
Hi All,
How is bppv of the ant canl treated? Is it with the EPLEY mnvr to the ipsilateral side with the problem or is to the contralateral side/ in other words if i did the HALL PIKEDIX to the left and diagnosed a problem in the ant canal on the right' do i do the EPLEY mnvr to the left or right? thanks Last edited by physiobob; 27-08-2007 at 07:39 PM.. |

Hi, would be interested to hear more.
I was under the understanding that Hallpike-Dix positive to left, indicates problem on left. And the direction of beat indicates which canal. ??? Anyway, normally, you do the manoeuvre in direction of the problem; history positive to left, confirmed by test positive to left = continue with manoeuvre straight away to left. Cheers, Taimana |

Re: BPPV - ANT Canal
Have just checked what I have written: should have typed "for the left" for better understanding. Which means, once you have the positive finding with the head rotated to left, you start turning head to right etc.
Hope that wasn't too confusing. Cheers, Taimana |
