Hypertonic posterior tongue

following a fall and chronic spasm in R neck/shoulder, the hyiod was lifted causing lack of sleep, pain on swallowing, voice distortion and c4 and 5 out, also affecting mid thoracic. After GP ruled out cancer and nodes from blood tests, patient advised to go private. The jaw was misaligned and has now been coaxed back into pace with cranio sacral therapy. The voice has improved and sleep patterns better. However. The back of the tongue remains hypertonic, with patient feeling 'worn out' with a feeling of 'muscular tension' in the back of the tongue, with it feeling swollen into the throat. Eating eases the discomfort ( due to the massaging effect) .

Any advice appreciated.

What is the innervation to the tongue??!

You mention mid thoracic being affected - what if the the mid thoracic is causing the C4 and C5 to be "out"??

Have you been able to get the C/S changes to be maintained with treatment? For how long (if so)?
