patello-femoral pain

Hi friends,

A 19-year old female presented with patello-femoral pain especially on palpation (highly sensitive) or when she 'bangs' it of something. office type occupation with pain at rest. history is she came down from doing a hand-stand when at a party and drunk 3months ago and 'wacked' it off the corner of a table!! severe bruising for 2 weeks but seeked no investigation. full ROM at the knee and the patella moves freely in all directions but with crepitus felt underneath, full strength also.

Any ideas regarding injury? fracture?
Any ideas regarding treatment

Talking Re: patello-femoral pain

hi
i wonder how she has such a highly sensitive area when her patellar mobility and rom is pain free.
the crepitus can be due to cartilagenous changes-chondromalacia patella?
where exactly is the tender point?-pls explain exactly in relation with anatomic references
as her job involves prolonged sitting cartilagenous changes can occur
special tests done????????
muscle length changes?????
muscle strength?????
orientation of patella ,tibia,femor,foot etc
gait analysis???

i feel you present a detailed assessment result so that ideal and efficient treatment can be sugessted
