Clinical guidelines to confirm trigger points?

could you please give some clinical guidelines to confirm diagonosis of trigger point and its treatment dose?

Try and get your hands on the books by Travell and Simons on Triggerpoint therapy. There may be some recent republished and / or revised editions as the ones I have are fairly old. There you have enough to keep you going for years. "Treatment dose" is something difficult to give in absolute terms. Treatment is painful! There are some contraindications or relative contraindications to consider as well.

1.pain on palpation
2.knotted spot in the muscle.
3.taut band
4.referred pain to area and
5.pain resited movement of the muscle.
