cellulitis of the hand from uncontrolled diabetes mellitus

hi friends, i have a patient just referred for hand mobilisation for cellulitis following severe diabetes melitus. restriction is quite severe and he complaints of numbeness in the thumb so sensory testing reveals nothing positive.i have begun him(65 yr old male) on assissted exs gently stretching and mobilisation techniques. can u suggest from any of ur experience if the use of any modalities would help?
