mobilizations with movement

Hello! I'm learning some MWMs currently in school and was wondering what the rationale was behing the mobs at the knee (ie. the counter torque technique while performing knee flexion) I don't understand how the applied torque would help with knee flexion and no one can give me an answer! Thanks!
