These evening sessions will mix lectures and practical sessions. The aim is firstly to give participants a working functional knowledge of foot biomechanics. This knowledge is then discussed in relation to orthotics and their prescription. This is then continued on the second evening in observation and analysis of the gait cycle allowing application of previously observed biomechanical problems through the gait cycle. The overall aim is to familiarise clinicians with assessing foot biomechanics and through clinical reasoning their influence on presenting patient symptoms. Anne Marie is an experienced podiatrist who works extremely closely with physiotherapists in her clinical practice. The evenings are aimed as both an excellent introduction to those needing to improve both their knowledge and skill within this area and a good refresher for those with a working knowledge of gait analysis and foot biomechanics.
