Treating Sports Injuries with Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine

Kevin Young will be presenting basic skills used to diagnose and treat musculo-skeletal and sports injuries using acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Demonstrating his own techniques, tried and tested in a sports environment and within his sports injuries clinics. Key topics for the day:TCM theory of sports injuries, muscle strains and ligaments sprain. TCM principles and functions of transporting points and their use. The use of specialist techniques, such as thread needling, eagle claw and star fish. Specific protocols for treatment of sports injuries The use of cupping, electro, heat and moxibustion Patent remedies, balms and herbal plasters Participants MUST be currently using acupuncture within their clinical practice.Who is this course aimed at?This course is aimed at all those who are regularly and confidently using acupuncture. Little time will be spent on revision of technique and most of the time will be spent practising and clinically reasoning acupuncture within a musculoskeletal setting.
