These 2 evening workshops will mix both lectures and practical sessions to detail the rehabilitation of the sporting ankle. Dave, formerly Physiotherapist with Leeds and Chelsea FC, will outline the principles of rehab and the specific assessment aspects relating to the foot and ankle. During the first week, there will be time to practice and discuss the key aspects of the physical assessment which Dave, through his extensive clinical experience, has found crucial in implementing a successful rehabilitation programme. The second week will explore the planning and implementation of a coordinated functionally based rehabilitation programme. Emphasis will be placed on the maintenance and progressive improvement of strength, range of movement, proprioception and function. Whilst specialist equipment will be discussed rehabilitation using minimal equipment will form a key focus. Whilst the evenings have a strong sports bias it would prove extremely useful for all experienced junior physiotherapists, senior II and new senior 1 physios, osteopaths, chiropractors, sports therapists and sports rehabilitators working in a musculoskeletal setting. Who is this course aimed at? This course is aimed at all musculoskeletal therapists treating foot and ankle problems especially within an active population.
