A global view will be presented, including analysis of the mechanics of all the joints of the shoulder complex and how they contribute to the various pathologies. The importance of differential diagnosis will be emphasized and the latest research constantly referred to with a clear distinction between what is fact and what is theory. It is a challenging and questioning course with many of our cosy notions of the shoulder held up to critical examination. It is an interactive course, requiring the involvement of participants and with a large practical component.It uses a variety of teaching methods, including surgical videos, computer graphics and case studies. A 70-page course booklet is included.
