The Sporting SpineDiagnosis and management of athletes with back painWith Chris Perkin Specialist sports physiotherapist West Coast Eagles physiotherapistTim Mitchell Specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist Back pain researcher and educator Body Logic Physiotherapy is pleased to present this workshop designed to increase the clinician’s understanding of the diagnosis and management of back pain in elite and recreational athletes. He currently practices as a Senior Sports Physiotherapist at Body Logic Physiotherapy and is one of the Physiotherapists to the West Coast Eagles AFL team. He also has affiliations with the WA Institute of Sport as a consultant physiotherapist. Chris has lectured widely on sports physiotherapy for Sports Medicine Australia, the APA, Masters Physiotherapy programs at Curtin University and UWA school of Human movement. He has also been involved in research into back pain in Female rowers and AFL football players. Chris was awarded fellowship to the Australian College of Physiotherapists as a Specialist Sports Physiotherapist in 2007.Tim MitchellTim has been practising in the area of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy since 1997. He completed a Masters in Manipulative Therapy with Clinical Distinction in 2003, and is currently completing his PhD on the effectiveness of back pain screening and prevention at Curtin University. He currently practices at Body Logic Physiotherapy consulting in acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries. Tim has lectured widely in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, and has been involved in other back pain research including adolescents and female rowers. He has presented at a number of national and international conferences and has published in international peer review journals. Tim was awarded fellowship to the Australian College of Physiotherapists as a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in 2007.
