This course is taught and assessed by Mark Comerford and Sarah Mottram (Kinetic Control) and Barbara Introwicz (Keele University). You may choose to take this module and its assessment to gain M level credits, or just attend the module for CPD purposes. The module aims to develop your knowledge of the examination, assessment and management of movement dysfunction, also to enable you to critically appraise contemporary models of movement dysfunction. Content includes factors contributing to musculoskeletal pain ; diagnosis and classification of motor control changes associated with pain and uncontrolled motion; retraining of motor control; treatment for correction of spinal and shoulder girdle movement dysfunction. The cost is £800 (not including accommodation) (UK/EU). The course runs over 3 one-week blocks (28th Jan-1st Feb, 3rd-7th March, and 28th April-2nd May 2008). If you have already undertaken some core courses run by Kinetic Control, you can gain the 30 credits via the APEL (accreditation of prior experiential learning) route, assessed by portfolio.
