    Help - insurance dilemma

    Hi.

I am a 4th year physio student at Sydney University, and have been asked to become a massage therapist at a private practice, that I have previously attended for work experience.

Does anybody from Australia know of any insurers that would cover a 4th year student already with experience?? I am running out of options and feel if I don't find any, I will miss out on a great opportunity to kick-start my career.

Any hints or previous experiences related to this would be extremely helpful!

I suggest you look to the massage colleges to see who underwrites their insurance. I am sure you would be able to buy the same premium from their insurers at a reasonable price.

You should be able to get professional indemnity insurance from a private company (though it might be on the pricey side!), I assume the australian physio assocation insures you as a student? It might be worth checking out if it also includes you working "off placement", I know in the UK our student insurance doesn't but maybe it's different in Aus.

I'm not sure how much this would be of help but you can check out at http://www.coulsonpritchard.com/ for professional indemnity insurance
