Recent laser research

I'm looking into the evidence base on this modality. Does anyone have any interesting references on the considered relevance of parameters? There are several references to support the therapeutic window of 0.5-4.0 joules per cm sq. and also a few suggesting much higher doses are needed at the skin surface to achieve this in the tissues. A few articles support each hypothesis and many articles find no difference to placebo. Is anyone doing any work in this area?
Many thanks,
Katharine
