Fall prevention through exercise

We would like to know of any studies that have or are being conducted on the use of exercise in the prevention of falls in the elderly.

Currently at the nursing home that I am at we use the Berg balance scale, plus MMT we have a special exercise class for balance which is on Tues. and Thurs. then we have regular strengthening exercises on M.W.F, after a month of completing the exercise classes we retest with Berg and MMT, this works well for us.
