Knee Injuries

Hi, I am a second year physio student studying at the University of Queensland in Australia. Just wondering whether someone can help me with a few questions in regards to knee injuries...

In conservative management of an ACL injury what would you do in the first 8 weeks of treatment? (just strengthening hamstrings, proprioception etc)

And in late stage treatment of an MCL injury in a netballer would you just be doing sport specific drills to regain strength?

Sorry to ask so many questions, but the literature available is so varied.

Yours truly, Alicia

Knee pain/treatment

I found heated hydro-therapy with a walk in tub to help with this and any type of pain, especially if the dificulty of climbing over a regular tub is exacerbated by the injury. You can find a good selection at www.independentlivingusa.com. The price seems to be the best around. Hope it helps. Good luck!
